MarioKart Wii Tournament

On Friday, September 25 at 7pm at the Pound Ridge Library we will be having a MarioKart Wii Tournament. There is limited space for particpants, so sign up before we run out of room. You can sign up by leaving a comment on this blog or by signing up at the PR Library. The tournament will end at about 10pm. We need people to bring Wii Remotes and Wheels. You may also bring other compatable remotes and use them. Hope to see you there!!!

Woot! Woot! I can't wait for the celebration tomorrow night! and hummus shall abound. We are gonna play Wii, munch, chat and just generally have fun.

I'm reading The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman and I just finished Cassandra Clare's City of Bones, kinda creepy but good in that fantasy way, put the sequel on hold.

I am in a bit of shock that August is so close. But, we haev really jammed up the summer with fun--I had a blast watching everyone play Guitar Hero 3. Thanks for the entertainment!

Im crying right now, I am using a computer for good. not evil, i have great power and no responsibility whatsoever i love the freedom. I loved drumming I was rocking out with one arm. The crying has ceased the moment is passed and now i am running out of things to say. I will be typing much more so look out Pound Ridge.

Heath, Joe aka Foaly and Tina attended the meeting today and helped MArtin and I plan our programs from now until May! I am so excited! Our first event will be right before Halloween, We're showing Ghostbusters on Thursday October 30th at 7 p.m. There will be pizza available before at 6:30!! Join us!

I'm working on The Wednesday Wars by Gary Schmidt and just finished The Host by Stephenie Meyer, which I LOVED. What are you reading??

We were very green here at the Pound Ridge Library tonight. We took so-called trash and made original art with pictures from old magazines and other found objects. Thanks to all who came and got creative with us!

Kaboom! The History of Special Effects

Clive Young is coming to the Pound Ridge Library to share his vast knowledge of special effects with us. If you love the action scenes in Star Wars or you're just curious about how filmmakers create such wild effects be sure to join us this Thursday night.

Pre-Show Pizza will be served at 6:30! and popcorn will abound during Clive Young's show.

Saturday May 17th found 3 teens at the Pound Ridge Library discussing books, movies and summer plans. The Summer Reading Theme is Metamorphosis: Transform Yourself! this year and we planned a bunch of programs for teens.

July 1st @ 4:00 p.m. Babysitting Clinic: with Leslie Hunt, R.N.

July 10th through August 21st @ 3:30 p.m. Book Buddies: Share your love of reading with preschoolers every Thursday afternoon.

July 10th @ 6:00 p.m. Web 2.o Workshop: Transform your internet skills so you're better, faster and smarter with free online tools!

July 11th @ 3:30 p.m. Chess Fest with John Gallagher: Beginners to advanced. Bring your chess set if you have one, or we'll provide one for you.

July 17th @ 7:00 p.m. Kaboom! The History of Special Effects: See how filmmakers have used technology to transform the impossible into cinematic reality with Clive Young.

July 31st @ 6:00 p.m. Trash Art: Transform junk into your own original creative masterpiece!

August 7 @ 6:00 p.m. Movie Night: Howl's Moving Castle: Check out Miyazaki's gorgeous movie in which the main characters, Howl and Sophie change themselves and each other.

Today the Pound Ridge Library’s Teen Advisory Group met for the first time and decided to start a blog where we can discuss what we are reading at the moment. 8 teens attended today and gave me lots of ideas for programs and music, books and movies to buy. It was a fun start! We meet again Saturday May 17th @ 3p.m. in the fiction room of the library.
